Lake Toxaway is surrounded by more than 10,000 acres of wilderness areas. Gorges State Park, Nantahala National Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and DuPont State Forest, are located right around Lake Toxaway, and more state and national parks—such as the Blue Ridge Parkway—are just a short drive away.

These natural areas are literally filled with waterfalls and provide a great opportunity for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, biking, and river adventures.
